How to Stand the Storms of Life 3 (Overcoming the Challenges of life)
This is episode three on
my teachings breaking the storms of life and becoming purposeful. In episode one, I explained that we must apply the virtue of hope to enable us to overcome
the storms we face.
In episode two, I
enumerated three additional keys to enable us to overcome the barriers of life.
In this episode, I will share with you three special keys you can use to break
the storms of life to enable you to become purposeful. Below is my list.
1. Be a light unto others.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be
hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a
candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16 KJV.
If you want to break the
storms of life, encourage and inspire others. If you can make people happy, do
it morally. You have gifts within you that no one possesses. There is some
untapped potential within you. Ask yourself these questions.
- What are some of the positive things I do that makes me satisfied, fulfilled, and happy?
- What drives me into action?
- What motivates me?
- What can I do for humankind?
- What problems can I solve?
When you give hope to
others, it helps you to stay healthy. We are spiritual, emotional, and logical
beings. We are composed of three entities (spirit, soul, and body). Rely not
only on the physical world. See the other side of life.
When you give hope and
inspire others, you become a light unto others. When you inspire and motivate
others, you will do nothing that will compromise the feelings of others because
they are looking up to you.
You will always press
forward because others are relying on you for survival. If you point others to
the light and uplift the joy and hope of others, you build your inner strength.
This inner strength will break your storms.
Meditate on this
scripture
Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth
the law, happy is he.
Proverbs 29:18 KJV
2. Surround yourself with
positive people.
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good
manners.
1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV
If you surround yourself
with people full of love and grace, they will empower you to break the storms
of life. Their words will build you and inspire you to move forward in life. According to
Hippocrates, there are four types of temperaments. Myers Briggs also discovered some
personality differences. Read more on those personalities. Below are the four primary
temperaments.
- The Choleric temperament.
- The Melancholic temperament.
- The Phlegmatic temperament and
- The Sanguine temperament.
We must understand that Agur discovered and recorded these temperaments in the Holy Bible before Hippocrates threw more
light on the four temperaments.
The Melancholic
temperament
There is a generation that curseth their father, and
doth not bless their mother.
Proverbs 30:11 KJV
The Phlegmatic temperament.
There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes,
and yet is not washed from their filthiness.
Proverbs 30:12 KJV
The Sanguine temperament.
There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their
eyelids are lifted up.
Proverbs 30:13 KJV
The Choleric temperament.
There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and
their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and
the needy from among men.
Proverbs 30:14 KJV
- The Choleric is dominant and focused. Most often, they take leadership positions in organizations.

the strength and weaknesses of each temperament.

Each temperament is
shaped by parental upbringing, culture, education, and religious faith. One can
possess two of the personality. Sometimes it can be a mixture of the three
temperaments, but one temperament will always dominate.
If you know these basic
temperaments, it will help you understand yourself and grow your strength. The
Holy Spirit can shape our temperament, personality, and character if we feed
and practice God’s Word. Knowing these basic temperaments will help you stand the storms because you will know yourself
and those around you. It will help you deal with others honorably.
3. Vacate Negative
Environment.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
(For the weapons of our warfare are
not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself
against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the
obedience of Christ;

Some people carry evil
spirits. Avoid such people. Some places have a strong demonic culture that
binds people to believe in abominable philosophies. Some culture opposes the
Word of God. When you live in such areas, you will never be free. Break out
from these evil traditions.
The seed you sow is what
you reap. Don’t expect the millet if you planted the seed of maize. Whoever you
listen to controls you. Evil spirits control some communities and associations.
If you don’t break out from such places, you will never break the storms you
are facing. Remember, your mind controls every organ of your body. Surround yourself with people who are filled with the Holy Spirit and you will break the worry habit.
